Good afternoon all,
A quiet week at the club this week, whilst the North of the country is getting bombarded with heavy rain storms, we seem to be fortunately missing most of them and the mild temperatures continue.
The December Stableford was played last Sunday, with a healthy field of 64 players playing off the white tees, not many irons for second shots on that day (unless it was a chip out from under trees) as the course would have been playing its maximum length, this unsurprisingly was reflected in the scores with no one bettering 36 points and the CSS rising to 73!
That said, Vice Captain Andy Craig led division 1 with 35 points, closely followed by Paul Lockstone on 34, 2 ahead of Alistair Stevenson on 32, in Division 2, Davis Ahmad took top spot with 36 points, this also activated an exception score reduction on his handicap (as it's not the first time recently this has happened!) and he has now been cut to 12.8 from 15, David Bartlett took the runner up spot with 33 points one ahead of Barry King on 32.
5 Players recorded 2's, this wins them £27.60 on their Pro Shop accounts.
There are still a few spaces left for the Texas Scramble event on Monday 28th December, as a few teams are a player or 2 short, it will be a shotgun start at 9am and the kitchen will be open for breakfast from 7.30 for those who haven't eaten enough over the Christmas break! The list is on the board in the entrance hall for those who still want to play.
Any printable captions please send them to me here. The best caption receives a sleeve of Callaway SR2 balls.
Christmas Draw tickets are still on sale, available from the Bar, office and Pro Shop (buy them from me as I'm getting ear ache for not selling many!) with some fantastic prizes available, such as;
- A 5 Day Membership at LPGC
- 2 night stay at Champneys
- Christmas Hamper
- iPad Mini and lots more.
The draw will be on Saturday 19th December.
