Good afternoon all
Sunshine and stripes on the fairways can only mean one thing, summer is on its way!! 23 degrees by this weekend, it could be time to get the legs out..... Lots to tell you about in the past week so make yourself comfortable!
Last Sunday was Captains Charity day, fantastic support from both members and guest with 188 players taking part in teams of 4 but also playing an individual stableford as well, Peter had also organised trick shot specialist Jeremy Dale to come along for the day who gave each group a close up of his skills plus performing his show after all had played, I'm Sure all of you who saw the show would agree how fantastic it was, I can't even sit on a gym ball, let alone stand on one and hit golf balls off a 7ft tee peg !
The individual winners were: 1st - P Sausse, 2nd - B, 3rd - M Glennon
Team winners were M Pulford, M Parr, S Rowe, A Dreneene
Runners up A Craig, D Field, A Roome, D Craig
A special mention must go to Keith Stacey, who completed 26 hours of continuous golf, starting Saturday morning and finishing with his round in the charity day Sunday lunchtime.
Here are his final stats for his 24 hour Golf Challenge. He played for nearly 26 hours, walked 47km and burnt 7900 calories, played 117 holes (6 + half rounds) I took 640 shots, Lost just 3 golf balls, and so far raised £1320.
Keith had lots of supporters throughout the night, special thanks to my assistant Nick who caddied for him all night plus working the whole of the next day without any sleep!
Bank Holiday Roll up
1st - M Parr 36 points
2nd - Max Jordan 34 points
3rd - Dave Paterson 33 points
A big turnout for the ladies stableford on Tuesday, and some very good scoring to go with it, in div 1, Angela Darby led the way with 33 points, beating Kim Wildman on countback, in Div 2 Kelly Woolgar beat the rest of the field out of sight with a fantastic 42 points, 10 points clear of Angeli Khanna in 2nd, Div 3 saw Kim Shead the clear winner with 38 points to beat Carol Helm into 2nd on 33 points.
The ladies have also been in action in The Bradley Cook with mixed fortunes, a fine 4-1 home win against Wildernesse, with Tereza Russo leading from the front with a fine 8/6 win, as followed with less fortunate 4-1 defeat at Mid Kent with Evelyn Collington providing the only win.
Captain Peter Kilford and I played in The Williams Cup at Littlestone this week, it's a foursomes invitational tournament for Captains and Professionals, we were drawn at the back of the field one sunny but certainly blustery day on the links, we scored 20 points on the outward downwind 9 and managed 17 coming home into a stiff breeze helped by birdies at 15 and 17 to win by 2 points! Beating Royal Ashdown Forest into second and Ashford into 3rd.

Langley Park member George Mullins has given up his amateur status to venture into the Professional ranks, this week, he played in only is 2nd event as a pro on the Jamega Tour at Essendon Golf Club, he shot 70 -2 on day one to lead overnight, then made 2 birdies on the front 9 to reach -4, further back to back birdies saw him reach -6 even a couple of bogies at 15 and 18 still saw him shoot another 70 and take the winners cheque!
A fantastic result George, well played and good luck for the rest of the season.
