Good afternoon everyone 

Lots to tell you about with the season in full swing, this week I'll start with the quite ridiculous decision from Muirfield yesterday to not accept lady members into the club, quite bizarre and judging from the news reports, no one outside of the golf club can actually believe or agree with it, so I've checked and Muirfield is on the simulator, any ladies who wish to see what they are keeping from you, can come and play for free anytime next week, book your session here.




May Stroke 

131 players took part in the May Stroke last weekend, with the course starting to play a little (not much) shorter, the scores are getting better each week, Niall Higgins took top spot in Division 1 using his new Titleist AP2 irons - well played Niall. 

Division 1: 
1st place: Niall Higgins nett 68 
2nd Place: Paul Sawyers nett 69 
3rd Place: Adam Roome nett 70 

In Division 2, Dave Patterson also shot 68, to win the division, and his handicap is now starting to fall to somewhere near where it should be, but just a word of warning to all Div 2 players - too much celebration usually ends in this......

Ladies Foursomes and frolics 

On Sunday 15th May, Ann Greatorex and Holly Gray played against Kingshill in a foursomes match, in a tough match in challenging conditions Ann and Holly fought through and took the match 3&2, good luck in the next round!

In the Frolics, husband and wife team of David and Jane Soars were this months winners, they were followed by David and Sally Meighan in 2nd and George and Alexandra Johnson in 3rd.




Jamega Tour 

George Mullins has continued his amazing start as a professional golfer by galloping on to his second win in four weeks on The Jamega Pro Golf Tour at Royal Ascot Golf Club in Berkshire. 

Shooting a brilliant score of -7 (63) on day 1 followed by a very solid -2 (68) in tough conditions on the final day to win the event by 3 shots.




So far this year the club matches haven't gone the way we would have liked with both The Sundridge Park and West Kent Trophy teams both losing away from home, this week Bernie De Souzas' Gray Cup Team played West Kent at home and a very tight battle that went right to the wire with Captain Bernie's team emerging victorious 31/2 - 21/2 




Pete and I took on Peter Sausse and Adam Roome last Sunday, the morning after Jon Barnes and Terry Hedges birthday bash, so ear defenders were required, to keep out the noise! A tight match which saw us 1 down early on, but all square after 6. A win at 9 from Pete saw us 1 up at the turn, our lead doubled as we took the 10th with another 3 from the captain and we crossed the road 2 up, 4/3 from Adam at 12 nicked a hole back until a surprising run of holes from yours truly of 2 at 13 - win, 4 at 14 half, 3 at 15 - win and 3 at 16 - half saw us take the honours 3/2.
