Good afternoon one and all,
I hope you have been out making the most of the fine weather, better late than never I suppose...
Pros Day - Saturday 6th August
As I mentioned last week, the entry list for my Pro's day will go on the board Friday, this year's event will be a Texas scramble format, teams of four.
There will be 2 shotgun start times of 8.15 and 1.30, please enter your teams as soon as possible, there will be a BBQ starting around mid-afternoon, with a prize giving after completion of the afternoon round.
Lots of prizes to win, plus several on course challenges to keep you entertained!
Well, The Open Championship was in my opinion quite spectacular, both Stenson and Mickleson were head and shoulders above the rest of the field, which I thought would end in an anti-climax, with one of them would surely make a mistake, how wrong I was!
Congratulations to Ian Russell who won the sweepstake, his picks of Stenson, Mickleson, Sullivan, and Day were good enough to win by 2 shots and just a small matter of £3000 winner takes all prize!
Last weekend saw The Millennium Bowl played, at competitors were winners from trophy and knockout competitions from 2015. Josee Gray led the way with a fine nett 68, she pipped Andrew Dixon into 2nd place with nett 69, with Vice Captain elect Phil McBrown in 3rd on nett 70. Well played Josee.
The Ladies played The July Medal/Guntrip Salver on Tuesday, the hottest day of the year so far! Sue Williams led Division 1 with nett 73, followed by Pam Smith with nett 77.
In Division 2, Angeli Khanna topped the list with nett 76, with Sally Meighan close behind with nett 77.
In Division 3 Catherine Loddo led the way with nett 77 with Vicky Mitchell in 2nd place with nett 78.
Continuing the ladies news
