Every year we have a couple of maintenance weeks and just a heads up to all members we have one coming up. The dates of this are Tuesday 9th August - Friday 12th August, the work will be relatively un-invasive but there may be temporary greens in place during the early part of the week and things will return to normal by Friday.
Max Jordan
Langley Park's very own Max Jordan, if you are not familiar with the name, he is commonly known as Toms Brother shot an incredible 2nd round 63 (-9) at The English Amateur Championship to make the cut by 3 and to progress in to the matchplay stages.
In the Matchplay, Max led early on, but in a very close game lost on the 20th Well played Max!

Professional's Golf Day
The list is now on the board for my Pro's day which is coming up on Saturday 6th August. I'm looking forward to hosting a great day playing a Texas scramble format with morning and afternoon slots available, the response so far has been fantastic and there are only 10 teams left so if you are intending to play you will need to be quick! The draw for tees will be made this weekend.
Any single players, please let the pro shop know and we will do our best to find you a team to play with.
The ladies have been very busy over the past week, firstly in the 5 Club, Carole Gilbey led the way in Division 1 with 40 points, with Priya Bhatia in 2nd place with 36, in division 2, Pauline Embury and Sally Meighan both scored 38 points, with Pauline winning on count back. Division 3 Honours went to Catherine Loddo with 35 points, Sharon Ahmad in runners up place with 33. Just goes to show that 14 clubs are overrated!

Titleist PGA Professional Championships
I am currently away playing in The Titleist PGA Professional Championships at The Oxfordshire, whilst I would like to report that things are going nicely, it would be stretching the truth a little, on a positive note, rounds of 72 & 73 saw me make the cut in 35th place, today I swung the club like a caveman killing its dinner and on 3rd round moving day managed to move nicely backwards!
Let's hope tomorrow improves (it can't be any worse....)
