A week of sunshine and showers, which is fantastic for golf courses and also produced this spectacular double rainbow, with a pot of gold under the fountain, or certainly a Pro V1 or 2!
Kent Foursomes
Langley Park were drawn away at my old club Ashford in the Kent Scratch Foursomes. Stuart Williams partnered Kent Osbourn and Max & Tom Williams were our other pair, both matches are played over 18 holes to ensure a result. Langley came out convincing winners with Stuart and Kent winning 3 up and Tom and Max winning 8 up!
Well played boys.
The Grey Cup
Langley played Royal Blackheath in the Grey Cup. The team, masterminded by non-playing Captain John Williams, came out on top with a 5-3 victory.
Geoff and I took on the formidable pairing of Andy Craig and Peter Kilford last Sunday. Peter and Andy were fast out the blocks, but the pace didn't last for too long, and we slowly ground them down to a 5&3 victory.
Chart Hills Fourball Betterball Pro-Am
I played at Chart Hills on a very windy day with John Williams in the KPGA Betterball Pro-Am. We were slow to get going, and only managed to be out in + 1, a better back 9 of -5 saw us return 68 to finish 8th, 64 was the leading score. In the individual event I was + 2 on the front 9 and then -3 on the back 9 playing the last, until a fine double bogey took me from a potential 2nd place to 5th with a score of 73.
On the subject of Pro-Am, we still have a few spaces left for our own Pro-Am at Langley Park on Friday 20th June, £60 per member, £80 per guest. All pros will be allocated from the PGA order of merit unless you have a particular request.
Staff v The Juniors Football match
The staff thought they still had some football ability (I don't include myself in this category) and took some of the juniors on at football in the week, eventually their legs gave way to youth and the juniors won 9-8!
Good luck to all playing in the 36 hole event on Sunday, let's see how many complete the 36 holes!
Happy golfing
