Good afternoon all,
Spring is just around the corner...
The eagle eyed ones of may have noticed I was a week ahead of myself last week, THIS week is maintenance week, most of the greens have gone back on today and normal service will be resumed shortly.
The Red Cross Cup
The first honours board event of the year was played on Sunday in the Red Cross Cup, a medal event from the whites, even with the dry weather, there is little roll on the ball so scoring should have been difficult.
Adam Roome looked to have secured his name in lights with a fine nett 66, and as usual had been fairly quiet about it....... this was until Mike Whysall came in with a quite tremendous nett 64 to take the honours!
1st Mike Whysall 79 nett 64 2nd Dan Lettington 88 nett 66 3rd Adam Roome 74 nett 66 (on countback)
Ladies Yellow ball Competition
With it being maintenance week, the ladies played a more relaxed fun event this week with the Yellow ball. It was played in teams of 3, with the following results:
1st - M Brickell, A Greatorex, J Salway - 107 points 2nd M Whelan, E Collington, A Johnson - 99 points 3rd J Price, M Simmons, S Meighan - 97 points
The Augusta Challenge
Only 3 weeks to go till the US Masters starts, and Alfie Hickman and Mark Pulford are still top of the list with 22 points for the back nine at Augusta from the member's tees. Have you ever wondered how you would get on? Come and try your luck around the most famous back nine in the world! £5 per entry, winner takes all and will be announced on Masters Sunday.
New stock continues to arrive, FootJoy are producing our logo shirts this year, and have some very nice designs, and we also have a different merino sweater for with contrasting colours on the placket to match the LPGC badge.
Shop spring clean!
To kick start the season, we will be having a massive cost price clearance on selected items over the Easter weekend, it will be in the clubhouse starting on Good Friday, put this date in your diary.
As there will be some great bargains to be had including men's and ladies knitwear, FootJoy, Oscar Jacobson, Tommy Hilfiger, Galvin Green and Under Armour shirts and outerwear, ladies swing out sister clothing, FootJoy and ECCO shoes plus lots more!
Don't miss this great opportunity...

You’ll never have seen anything like this before To say Odyssey’s new O-Works collection is different would be an understatement, as their revolutionary Microhinge insert increases topspin for better roll regardless of your stroke. The range - available in both blade and mallet styles - comes with new and improved Versa alignment technology which helps you to line-up exactly to your target.
