Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying the mini heat wave we are having, it's certainly got lots of you out enjoying the course at the moment.
Erin Hills
The week is the 2nd major of the year, The US Open at Erin Hills. The course is certainly very interesting measuring 7823 yards with some rough at nearly 3 feet long! This week's winner will certainly have to be able to send it out there from the tee, but the one who can keep it out of the waist high rough will be the winner, not that my picks are ever anything to write home about but these are my choices this week - Rose, Stenson, Rahm and Kuchar.
Titleist have released a special edition ProV1 celebrating 69 years as the number one ball at the US Open, just in case you were wondering!
PING 4BBB
This week the Ladies played the PING 4BBB competition, congratulations to the winners Jill Salway and Ruth Smith, with the magnificent score of 43 points their names will be put forward to the next stage. The runners up were Carole Gilbey and Angela Darby with 41 points, in 3rd place were Sarah Miller and Sue Williams with 40 points on C/B from Mary Forrest and Leona Bishop.
Jill has just changed her clubs to the new Ping G Le and clearly helped her win her first event at LPGC, well played Gill and Ruth, good luck in the area finals.

Match Report
Andy and I played Vice Captain Elect Bernie De Souza and Brian Smith on Sunday in what turned out to be a very entertaining match, with the shot situation a little concerning as Bernie received 17 shots and Brian 14 shots. (Ridiculous I know!) My par at 1 took us into the lead before giving it straight back again at the 2nd, Brian's 3/2 at 5 took them into the lead before we all fell apart at the 7th and Brian won it with a 6/5!
2 down and not looking promising, Andy rescued us at 8 with a 4/3 and a couple of halves saw us cross the road 1 down before Bernie made 2/1 at 13 and Brian 4/3 and 14, things looked bleak at 3 down…. cue the comeback.
15 was halved in 4's, before my 3 at 16 won the hole, Andys 3/2 at 17 took the match to the 18th, I put my tee shot to 10 feet, Bernie indicated left towards the ditch, Brian was in 2 minds what club to take thought it was better to have a swim instead! So a 3 was good enough to end all square and a moral victory for Andy and me!
