Good afternoon everybody,
A very hot week at the club this week, not only with the weather, but also the scoring in the competitions. Firstly in the June Stroke, where 18 players shot level par or better, in Division One there was a three way tie for third on nett 67 with Stuart Williams, Adam Willbourne and Conor Byers. John Pettitt shot nett 64, only to be beaten on countback by Max Jordan who shot gross 63 nett 64 and also equalled his brother's course record.
In Division Two Dave Barnes shot nett 70 for third place, the in-form John Webb took second with nett 67, but the lowest score of the day came from Sam Giacopazzi with a nett 61.
I think we need to make the holes smaller…
Royal Blackheath and Wilding Cole
Dave Allen's Royal Blackheath Trophy team marches on after a resounding 6-2 home victory against Knole Park with wins from Keith Stacey, Dan Craig, Steve Clarke, Patrick McCoy, Dave Rouse and Brian Smith. Not to be out done, John Sowden's Wilding Cole side played Chislehurst this week also at home, and they romped to a 6.5 - 1.5 victory with wins from Adam Roome, Phil McBrown, Peter Sausse, Peter Kilford, John Church, Patrick McCoy and and hard earned half from Barry Byers. Both side are now through to the Semi-finals, keep an eye in the board for the dates and opponents for the next match.
Lady Captain's Fours
12 teams competed for the Last Captain's Fours last Friday, playing best two scores from four with three scores to count on the par threes. The Lady Captain's team of John Gray, Ros Cox and Club Captain Andy Craig came in third place with 94 points, the team of Pauline Emburey, Chitra Prashar Tereza Russo, and Peter Battle were runners-up with 97, but the day's winners with 98 points were Sarah Miller, Janice Pottage, Sally Meighan and Club President Peter Killick.
