Captain & Pro After a few weeks without a match due to weather conditions, Phil and I took on the challenge of Stuart Williams and Alfie Hickman, with Stuart receiving 3 shots and Alfie 1, they bravely opted to play the match off flat with only Phil receiving his shots! Phil was quickly into his stride as he holed from 25 feet at the first to go one up! Alfie levelled at 3 with a birdie, my 4 at 4, 2 at 5 from 15 feet, 3 at 6 from 30 feet and 3 at 7 also from 30 feet looked to give us a healthy 4up lead. That was until Stuart followed me in for a half, so 3up through 7, a 4 at 8 after Alfie’s 3 putt was good enough to go 4up, and things were a little quiet in Team Hickman. 9 and 10 were halved in pars before Stuart holed from 20 feet at 11 for a win and we were 3 to the good crossing the road, my 4 was good enough to restore the 4up lead at 12, Stu made a fine 2 at 13 to go back to 3. Alfie turned up on 14 with a great drive and 6 iron to 20 feet, his eagle putt narrowly missed and my 10 foot birdie putt just fell in for a vital half and 3up with 4 to play, our 4 at 15 was good enough to seal a 4&3 win.
