4 years ago this week, I joined Langley Park, doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun!

Those of you who have been out on the course this week will have noticed that it has been drying out nicely, hopefully with a few more bright and breezy days it will continue to do so. You will also have noticed that the green staff have been busy with some tree work, the first fairway now looks a little wider and hopefully the tree on the dog leg won’t catch quite so many of my second shots now!

Portugal Pro-Am

The Pro-Am in Portugal that we were half way through last week, improved slightly as after 3 days. The team of myself, Ed McCoy, Dominic d’Inverno and Ian Gough were moving the wrong way down the table and were occupying 20th spot.

Day four was our worst, it was a day with strong winds around Quinta South but fortunately the event was the best 4 rounds out of 5 to count so we could drop that one. We saved our best until last at Quinta South as we returned 134 -10 to move up to 15th place and mid table obscurity. My individual scores of 76, 72, 75 and 70 managed a share of 8th place.

It was a touch windier than we would have liked in January but the sunshine was most welcome, thank you gents for a great week.

Ladies Stableford

With a very unattractive forecast for Tuesday, it was not surprising that only a small field took part in the monthly Stableford. But after a chilly start, it actually turned into quite a nice sunny day!

Claire Cordeshi led the way with 32 points, she was closely followed by Mary Forrest on 30, with Sue Tester a further 2 points back on 28.

New arrivals

This new ball has the largest ever core that Titleist have produced giving soft responsive feel without losing the all-important ball speed combined with an ultra-thin cover for short game control and feel.

PING have added the G400 Max to their driver range and it is officially released on 8th February, we already have it if you want a sneak preview!
