August Bank Holiday Mixed Stableford 57 players played in this competition and there was some great scoring, but none better than Nathan Hill who, off a 9 handicap, went round the course in a gross 69! This gave him a score of 45 points, 6 clear of Andy Jani and 8 clear of Kent Osborn who pipped Richard Truelove on countback for 3rd place.
Well done Nathan, a great score and enjoy playing off your new 7 handicap!

Junior August Stroke Well done to Max Wadley who shot a nett 64 to win convincingly in Division 1. Harry Burgess was in 2nd place with a nett 76 and 3rd was Holly Gray with a nett 79. Well done also to Joshua Thomas who shot 22 points to win the 9 hole stableford for Division 2. Fred Salway played his first ever competition and recorded a very respectful 16 points.

The Waterford Trophy Alfie Hickman represented LPGC in The Waterford Trophy at Sundridge Park last week, a 72 hole scratch event for amateurs with World Amateur ranking points available.
Alf didn’t get off to the best of starts with 75 and 73 but this was enough to make the cut. Rounds of 68 and 71 on rounds 3 and 4 saw him climb his way up the leaderboard and finish in 7th spot. Well played Alfie, a great performance.

SkyCaddie Pro/Captain Challenge Bernie and I played at Royal Mid Surrey this week in The Pro/Captain Challenge, sponsored by SkyCaddie. This is an annual event run by the PGA with the grand final played in Italy for the winners of each of the 8 qualifying venues played around the UK.
From previous experiences, usually 43 or 44 points is a good target to aim for, and we were off to a strong start, well... Bernie was, as a nett birdie at 2, my birdie at 3 and another nett birdie at 5 saw us in a good position. Missed chances at 6, 7, 8 and 9 meant we were out in 21 points, another 3 points from the Captain at 11 and birdies at 13 and 14 meant we had a real chance, but pars at 15 and 16 left us realistically needing to birdie the last two holes. Our first dropped shot of the day came at 17 and my birdie at the last saw us end up with 42 points, which did briefly take the lead until the following group posted the winning score of 44 points! We ended up in a tie for 5th place.

Revealed: Our top driver of 2019 |
Looking for a new driver this year? There is plenty of choice out there so why not grab a coffee, take five and watch our latest video on why Callaway’s Epic Flash has set our pulses racing this year? |
“The Epic Flash offers excellent ball speed” Not for the first time this year we are raving about Callaway’s Epic Flash driver, where Artificial Intelligence has played a major role in creating a radical face design known as Flash Face: “Flash Face is designed to give you maximum amount of ball speed across the face” And it certainly does that, especially on off-centre hits! One swing of the club and we reckon you'll be hooked as the added bonus of the beautiful green, black and yellow colourway leaves us drooling when taking it out of the bag. So, now is the time for you to come down and demo the Epic Flash driver and let us correctly set-up the club to suit your swing during a custom fitting session.
