Captain/Pro
Dave and I have been undefeated so far in our matches, due to the fact every game has been cancelled so far, but with the course open for play on Sunday we were due to play Bernie De Souza and Phil McBrown. Bernie cried off at the last minute, clearly running scared and not wishing for an early start after presentation night, so Phil recruited Chris Gimson to deputise. Holes 12-18 and 1&2 were open for play, so we decided to play 18, starting at the 12th, which had a friendly half, our win at 13 and a further win at 17 saw us 2UP. My 3 at the 1st took us 3UP and looking comfortable, only to lose, 2nd, 12th and 14th to suddenly be all square. Dave’s fine 4/3 at 15, a par was good enough to win 16, and it looked to be all over as both Phil and Chris went out of bounds on 17, only to find Phil’s first effort, behind a tree, which he managed to scramble a 5/4 for a half. 3’s at 18 for a half and another 3 from me at the 1st was good enough for a 3&1 win.
Well played Dave, good to get a first win on the board. |
