Good afternoon all, well the weather definately caught me out last week. Just as I mentioned we were back to square one with the rain, Spring arrived with temperatures of 17 degrees and the course dried out rapidly, and looks fantastic. All 18 holes and greens are back in operation and the trolley ban has been lifted - how is that for good news!
The Scratch team had their first outing of the season vs Chislehurst. A very close game with Chislehurst winning the fourball matches 2 1/2 - 1/2, however Langley came through much stronger in the singles taking 3 1/2 points from 4, with wins from Fraser Mackie, Matt Hervey and Mark Haffenden.
The Junior Section also had their first outing of the year with the monthly stableford, Calum Abbott fought off the rest of the field to come out on top with 30 points - Well played Calum.
The Red Cross Cup is due to be played this coming Sunday, still places available for those who wish to enter.
Date for your Diary
The Langley Park KPGA Pro Am is to be held on Friday 20th June. Teams of three to play with a PGA Professional of your choice or one which can be allocated for you. I understand Peter Battle is due to host his customary auction for Professionals - so dig deep!
The format will be best 2 scores from the team of four on each hole, along with the Pro returning his own score to compete for the Professionals prize. The team can be made up from any combination of men, ladies, and juniors plus any guests (with an official handicap) you may wish to invite. Costs will be £60 for members and £80 for guests.
The list will be on the noticeboard on Friday 28th March, so be quick to get the time of your choice - numbers will be limited.
