Last weekend, saw The Club Shield and Founders Cup played over 36 holes on Saturday, a scratch and handicap event, with some quality scoring. Conor Byers took the scratch event with consistant scores of 69 + 69 in both am and pm rounds, he was two clear of Jack Stanley who also had matching scores of 70 + 70 with Mark Haffenden and Ben Church a further three shots back with 72 + 71. In the handicap event, Jack Stanleys nett scores of 67 + 67 saw him the clear winner as he was six shots clear of second placed Mustafa Hassan and Conor Byers with combined nett scores of 140. The Ladies also played their 36 hole event on Tuesday in The Nancy Robertson Scratch Plate and Goodhart Bowl. New member Miranda Brain shot two very consistant scores of 73 + 70 to comfortably win the scratch with Sue Tester in runners up spot and Lady Captain Lesley Compton in third place, The handicap event was taken by Jill Salwaywith nett scores of 71 + 74, two clear of Miranda Brain in second place and Sue Tester in third. |
