Good morning golfers,
A relatively quiet week on the results front, the only event this week was the Bank Holiday roll up. On a day when scoring was obviously proving tough as the CSS went up to 72 Ian Gough took the top spot with 36 points, his new Titleist AP 1 irons are obviously doing the trick, he was 4 points clear of 2nd placed Paul Cook and 5 clear of Connor Byers.
Langley Park had strong representation in the South East Junior Boys Championships at Effingham this week (lots of good players have won that event.....), 5th Tom Jordan, 74-69, 9th Max Jordan, 72-74, 12th George Mullins, 76-73, 29th Connor Byers, 74-78.
Alan and I took on the challenge of Mark Pulford and John Flesher last Sunday, following a lively race night evening the night before. A slightly hungover Captain and Pro appeared on the 1st expecting the worst!
Fortunately we seemed to play better under the influence, and off to a quick start wining 1,2,3,6,8, & 10 things were looking short lived for the challenger. As the dogs started barking, we crossed the road 6Up, a win up the 12 saw the dog licence (7&6) complete.
Name that player!
Usually known for his accurate driving, who can name this player, what hole he is on and what hole is he playing? All 3 correct answers sent to paul.sherman@foremostgolf.com win a sleeve of the new Callaway Chrome Soft golf balls.
The gentleman concerned is excluded from this competition!
