Good afternoon all,
Another busy week draws to a close, and the last of golf four majors is due to start. The USPGA Championship tees off at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin next week and with Rory still out due to his footballing injury, Jordan Spieth must be the hot favourite, can he make it a very impressive 3 out of 4 major wins???
Last Saturday was my Pro's Day, fortunately the sun shone and 162 people played in an individual stableford competition, I also had a hit the green challenge on the 5th, nearest the pin prizes on all par 3's, nearest the pin in 2 on 2nd and 16th, straightest drive on 3rd and Long drive with the jumbo driver on 12th, so plenty to play for!
We also had a 19th hole floating green, from 54 yards, unfortunately no winners - must get a bigger pool for next year!
After the morning round and for most of the afternoon, it looked like defending champion, Kieran Bowry was going to win again as she led on 38 points, until Declan Lennox, Jon Service, Roz Galley and Gary Whitfield all returned 39 points. Thank you to all that supported the day, I shall get my thinking cap on for next year's event.......

Junior Watkins Cup and Cadet Trophy
The juniors played their annual Watkins Cup last week, in a well-supported event, the eventual winner was Will Day with nett 66 in the Watkins Cup and Rory Lennox with nett 72 winning the Cadet Trophy, well played boys!
Congratulations to Pauline Embury who has battled her way to the final of the county knockout competition 'The Three Feathers' she won her semi-final match at Mid Kent on the 19th hole and now plays in the final at Gillingham on13th September, good luck Pauline.
LPGC Vets were out again this week (they play more than me!) they were drawn away to West Kent, as in the previous match the first 3 games went the way of the home side, fortunately our last 3 matches of Killick/Betts, Rowlinson/Blackford, Davison/Peach all recorded wins to finish the match in another 3-3 draw. I'm sure Alex Ferguson used to change things when players weren't performing.
