Good afternoon,
September certain arrived with a bang - literally! Thunderstorms and several heavy deluges of rain had certainly brought the colour back to the fairways, unfortunately with that is the fact that the course seems to play 300 yards longer!
For those of you who don't know, next week is course maintenance week, all greens will be on temps for the early part of the week, weather permitting, normal service will be resumed by Thursday.

Many congratulations to Declan who will be awarded the new trophy at the Presentation Night later in the year and will be the first Junior Club Champion on our new honors board in the Club lounge.
Well done to all those that took part.
On Saturday Nick and Pete took on Steve Sharpe and Homie Mehta. Nick and Pete started well but found themselves all square through 3 with both missing short putts on the 1st and 3rd hole. Sharpie and Homie then took a 1 up lead winning the 4th with a 5 net 4. On 5 Nick left his tee shot short right of the green in the rough, a delicately, slightly thinned chip that charged up the slope, and then fed back down to the cup and dropped for a 2 and a win to take the match to all square. More wins followed for Nick and Pete on 6, 9, 11 and 12 saw them 4 up with 5 to play. On 14 Homie was in good shape on the green in 3 with a shot, Homie unfortunately missed the putt and Nick managed to chip in for the 2nd time of the day for eagle and the match was over 5&4.
The ladies event this week ended up being called off, as contrary to the forecast, a deluge of rain arrived late morning, causing several greens to become flooded and the competition was cancelled.
