Good Afternoon Everyone!
Only 21 shopping days 'til Christmas, now there's a scary thought!! I know you may been bombarded by the Titleist Personalisation deal, but Wednesday 9th December is the very last day for orders, so please let me know if you need to order any or click here to follow the link to order direct.
Many of you have noticed the increase of wildlife on the golf Course recently, especially Canada geese, ducks and pheasants, this week however it was nice to see this week's new edition..
Once again, the competitive side of the club is relatively quiet at the moment, although the Ladies were out on Tuesday, playing their monthly stableford, Evelyn Collington led the way in division 1 with 32 points beating Priya Bhatia into second place on count back, in division 2, Sue Tester was the clear front runner with a fantastic 40 points, she was 9 points clear of second placed Liz Riddell.
Sue started the day playing off 29, her score on the day plus an exceptional score reduction has now seen her cut to 25, well done Sue!
President Peter Killick has his annual golf day on Sunday, 76 of us played, fourball better ball stableford, on a very windy Sunday morning, I thought any score around 40 points would be in with a shout, clearly what do I know as Karl Holmes and Martin Bellinger destroyed the field with a quite amazing 47 points, rumour has it that Karl hit a driver and 5 iron to the 12th and holed the putt for a 3 for 5 points!!

Peter and I also played our Captain/Pro match against Peter Killick and Sarah Miller, in a very good match, we got off to a decent start winning 3 out of the first 6 holes, a score line we kept until Sarah won the 11th, so we crossed the road 2up, Pk mentioned that you need to be more than 2up crossing the road, personally I'd rather be 2up than 2 down…………
Halves at 12, 13 and 14 until Sarah holed from the front edge of 15 for a win, which meant game on with 3 to go, I missed from 5 feet for a 3 and the match at 16, both Peters disappeared down Hayes Chase off the 17th tee, which left Sarah and I to halve the hole in 5 and a 2&1 win for Captain and Pro. This was all followed by a very enjoyable Sunday lunch in the clubhouse which 115 people attended, congratulations to all that played and thank you to Peter Killick for a very well run event.
